Of all NYC's beachy destinations, Coney Island has always offered something more—how can we put this?—out-there. From its glitter-strewn, semi-naked Mermaid Parade to the iconic Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster, and of course, the Coney Island Freakshow, Coney Island is a true treasure of New York. As you'll know, New York City's own barrier island holds many offbeat and unconventional events, and this year's Miss Coney Island Burlesque Beauty Pageant was no exception.
