For the 11th year, the New York City Hot Sauce Expo is blazin' into town. Landing at Industry City over two days, September 21-22nd, the expo will gather over 50 of the top hot sauce companies in one place.
This year's festival will mark the debut of Pepper X. Available for the first time, the world's hottest pepper will be featured in five sauces available for tastings and purchases. But to put your tastebuds through the ringer, visit the Stage Of Doom. If you dare, enter the arena for fiery eating competitions including the "Doughnuts of Death Challenge," "The Italian Beef of Spicy Love Challenge" or go for the ultimate "Carolina Reaper Eating Challenge" for a $1000 prize. But if you can't stand the heat, don't worry, the festival has plenty to eat that won't make you cry.
General admission is only $15. But if you need a little something to temper the heat, upgrade to the Craft Beer Package for $45 tickets. True heatonists should opt for the VIP ticket ($100) for all-access backstage pass, an exclusive VIP area, an open bar and take home goodies that more likely than not include hot sauce.
