The NYC Century was founded in 1990 as a way for cyclists to assert themselves on the streets of New York City. Over the years awareness of cyclists has grown exponentially and the city now boasts over 1,200 miles of bike lanes, so let's get out there and use them. This is the only century route (100 miles) that is entirely urban as the course passes through every borough not named Staten Island. Don't worry if the 100-miler sounds a bit too taxing for your skill level, there are four other routes of varying length. The 15-mile route is even led by an NYPD escort. Each route ends at Central Park where there will be a Finish Festival eagerly waiting for you.
