Funded by the National Science Foundation, this free workshop will bring together researchers, teachers, parents, and policy influencers on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to address the vast inequalities that still exist in education decades after King’s assassination, seen through the lens of neuroscience and psychology.
Following an opening dedication given by Dr. Joseph Ravenell, the Associate Dean of Diversity Affairs and Inclusion at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the "collaboratory" will take on "the long-standing gap between research, policy and practice in STEM education" via interactive presentations by Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek (Temple University; author of Making Schools Work) and Dr. Wendy Suzuki (New York University; author of Good Anxiety and Healthy Brain, Happy Life).
