For more than three decades, Lola Flash's photos have challenged gender, sexual and racial norms. Nonprofit Pen + Brush hosts the first comprehensive exhibition of Flash's photos, including her series chronicling the AIDS crisis in New York, "Gay A–Z," alongside more recent projects like “[sur]passing,” which examines the influence of skin pigmentation on black identity, and “SALT,” which focuses the lens on women over 70.
