As soon as you set your eyes as well as hands on Jeppe Hein’s interactive sculptures, the meaning of art will change for you. 18 playful pieces designed for public interaction are on display at Brooklyn Bridge Park. When you witness Appearing Rooms water will shoot up from the ground forming a series of rooms with walls that will appear and disappear as they wish. In the Mirror Labyrinth you will see equally spaced vertical elements of differing heights. Made from mirror-polished stainless steel they will form a kaleidoscope of reflections, amplifying the landscape around the art piece. And in 16 Modified Social Benches you will come across angles, curves, twists and turns coming together to emulate the shape of a bench in a park. It’s all about surprise, movement and fun!
