Who needs ghouls and demons and fantastical things that go bump in the night when the real world is already terrifying enough? That's the thinking behind the new show HEALTH [S]CARE from Novelty Mug Comedy, the all-female and non-binary sketch comedy team "formed in the year of our Dark Lord 2020!"
The new comedy show delves into the "deeply hilarious (and horrifying!!) world of modern day healthcare!" and if you've ever tried to navigate the confounding world of copays and deductibles and premiums on your own, you know that it's one rife with chilling moments.
The sketch team—which features performers like Andi Rogers Patton, Katy Maiolatesi, Eric Rubinski, Maryam Washington, Jen Bijanki, Lia Fietz, Ali Goldberg, and Megan Kashtan—will put on two performances of HEALTH [S]CARE ahead of Halloween weekend. The first is on Friday, October 20 at 6 pm at the Magnet Theater (254 West 29th St between Seventh and Eighth Aves) in a fun double-billing alongside The Brothers King. The second is on Saturday, October 21 at 2 pm at The Pit Loft (154 West 29th St between Sixth and Seventh Aves) as part of The PIT Sketchfest, where they will be joined by the Boston-based sketch team Field Trip.
