Time Out says

Schutz’s cartoony style, and her ability to make the strange seem ordinary and the ordinary seem strange, are put to good use in her latest show, which focuses on images of subjects struggling against constrained spaces—with constrained meaning everything from the mouth of a lion devouring a lion tamer to the titular elevator and brawl. As usual, the work features the artist’s droll nods to Picasso, Matisse, Guston and various species of Expressionism.
