Time Out says

Whether you’re interested in learning to make your own furniture, create a leather wallet from scratch, or weld a steel box, Craftsman Ave. has a beginner-friendly woodworking class that’s sure to entertain and educate you. Whiskey drinkers will love the course where you make your own barrel to age spirits. Students are expertly guided through the entire coopering process, starting with assembling the perimeter of the barrel. Then, students will flavor their spirit by charring the inside of their barrel as much (or as little) as they like. Throughout the process, students will also learn more about the history of coopering and distilling tips and tricks. Even with no prior woodworking experience, students will leave the course with a handmade oak barrel full of their favorite aged liquor.

Craftsman Ave. also offers plenty of date night experiences perfect for couples looking to shake up their romantic routine. In the Build a Custom Copper Lamp date night workshop, couples will receive all the tools and materials they need to create a working lamp from start to finish! They’ll get to design their own shape and learn essential soldering skills, leaving the workshop with a completely one-of-a-kind lamp they’ll be proud to display at home. There are also date night experiences to make a stained glass art piece, a steel planter box, and craft a small oak table. The date night courses include a pizza and a bottle of wine for each couple to share as well.

Courses at Craftsman Ave. have received plenty of rave reviews from former students. Classes are regularly described as “fantastic” and “wonderful,” with plenty of students stating they would love to enroll in another course. The courses reportedly make lovely gifts for birthdays and anniversary presents. Students frequently praise the instructors for their knowledge, humor, and patience and are also happy that they are often able to leave with a tangible product. Even though many of these skills sound intimidating on the surface, a lot of students shared that the instruction was beginner-friendly and they received enough guidance to make the class safe and enjoyable.
