Whether you're a devoted leaf peeper or simply love boat life, City Cruises is a popular attraction for tourists and New Yorkers alike. And now the cruise line is celebrating all things autumn with a brand new menu across its Signature, Premier and Premier Plus voyages, all of which will run through the fall and winter seasons.
“Experiencing New York in a unique way is part of what makes our cruises so special and we wanted to complement that experience with memorable dishes and cocktails inspired by the city,” said Chad Barth, City Cruises’ Vice President of Food & Beverage, who oversaw the creation of each menu in collaboration with the local New York team.
Highlights of the fall dinner menus include a cauliflower-potato chowder served with leeks and smoked chili oil; Italian sausage ravioli all'amatriciana topped with crispy pancetta and shaved fennel gremolata; and buttermilk-brined chicken breast paired with mustard-glazed marble fingerlings, marinated artichokes and apricot preserves. And, yes, there will of course be dessert, like a Basque-style cheesecake with pomegranate-fig reduction and mascarpone whipped cream.
The new food offerings will be complemented with new cocktails, including the vodka-based New York Sunset (with lemon sour, strawberry puree, fresh mint and soda water) and the gin-forward A Day on the Hudson (citrus gin, pamplemousse liqueur, yuzu lemon sour and Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic water).
“We are thrilled to offer seasonal menus that are inspired by New York” said Nilda Bracero, General Manager. “Fall is a beautiful time to cruise, and thanks to our climate-controlled interiors, we can offer the unique experience of dining with a spectacular city skyline view all year-long. We look forward to delighting our guests with these new flavors.”
