Time Out says

Located in the eclectic neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Choplet Ceramic Studio provides high-quality pottery courses for all ages and experience levels. Beginner ceramicists just wanting to get their feet wet can check out the One Day Wheel Throwing workshop. In this two-hour program, students will learn basic techniques for throwing on the potter’s wheel. Each participant will create a simple bowl or cylinder shape, and the course includes glazing and firing so students can pick their finished piece up at the studio once it’s finished. Those who are ready to dive into the deep end may prefer the Wheel Throwing Intensive course, which is also for beginners but goes much more in-depth.

If you’re looking for a pottery course for children, Choplet also offers a Hand Ceramic Day Camp for students between the ages of 6 and 14. This is a five-day course where students learn about everything they can do with a simple piece of clay. Kids work on a different project each day so that, by the end of the course, they have a well-rounded understanding of a variety of ceramic techniques. Some of these include mosaic/tile making, glazing, hand-building, sculpting, and throwing clay on the wheel.

In addition to its numerous public ceramics workshops, Choplet is also a well-respected art gallery in the Brooklyn area. Artists can also book a two-hour spot to work in their studio during drop-in hours or become a monthly member for additional savings. The ceramics classes at Choplet Ceramics Studio have received hundreds of positive reviews over the years. Many former students report wanting to return for additional classes due to having such a positive first experience. The instructors were attentive and patient, and many beginner students were surprised and pleased with how much they could learn in a few short hours.
