This one's for those page-turners you simply couldn't put down and didn't want to, the tomes that took up as much of a permanent space in your heart as on your bookshelf. Yes, the Books That Changed My Life Festival is back for its second annual edition at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan on the Upper West Side in January and February.
The two-month-long festival will feature a host of events inspired by some of the most beloved literary works, including author conversations, workshops, story time, a gallery exhibition, musical performances, theater, film events, and more. Festival highlights include "The Cookie That Changed My Life," a conversation between food-world legends Nancy Silverton and Ruth Reichl; "From Page to Stage: Adapting Water For Elephants for Broadway," a sitdown with producer Peter Schneider, musical book writer Rick Elice and Water for Elephants author Sara Gruen; and "The Collars of RBG: Celebrating RBG's Legacy Through Her Neckpieces," highlighting the photographs by Elinor Carucci of the late, great Supreme Court justice.
