This new venue, which opened in 2011 in what was once the Annex, offers an eclectic lineup of indie rock, hip-hop and other performances, along with the weekly Good Fridays dance party (Fri 11pm; $20, with RSVP $10). The space also boasts a restaurant where you can fuel up before taking in a show. 152 Orchard St between Rivington and Stanton Sts (212-228-7556, tammanyhallny.com)
Regular concertgoers often cite the LES mainstay as their favorite space, thanks to the clear sightlines and bright sound system. It's equally beloved by the bands that play there, from up-and-coming headliners such as Caveman (Jan 20; $15, advance $13) to more established outfits such as Nada Surf (Jan 24; sold out). 6 Delancey St between Bowery and Chrystie St (212-533-2111, boweryballroom.com)
You'll become intimate friends with burlesque mavens Calamity Chang, Honi Harlow and their scantily clad cohorts by the end of this weekly performance at '50s-themed venue Nurse Bettie. The show includes up to six acts, plus a preshow and go-go dancers. 106 Norfolk St between Delancey and Rivington Sts (917-434-9072, nursebettie.com). Thu 10pm; free.
Screw your Netflix instant queue (you didn't really want to guilt-watch old episodes of Felicity again, did you?) and head to the Landmark, home of one of the most quality midnight movie series in the city. Friday 12 features The Divide, a violent post-apocalyptic baller starring Milo Ventimiglia (who will forever live in our hearts as Jess on Gilmore Girls). 143 E Houston St between First and Second Aves (landmarktheatres.com). Showtimes vary; $13, seniors and children $9. Midnight screenings $10.
Been there, done that? Think again, my friend.
