Sacre bleu, 60th Street looked more like the Champs-Élysées as the French Institute Alliance Française staged its annual Bastille Day celebration. Le Tricolore waved from the sides of buildings, while mimes, accordion players and cancan dancers performed underneath. Francophiles and gastronomes indulged in cheese, wine and pastries, when they weren't playing pétanque.
