Celebrate the influence of the African Diaspora on the global community in a weekend-long celebration at The Apollo. Africa Now features performances in music, comedy, cinema and other cultural forms from April 13–15.
The headlining event of the weekend is a dynamic concert by Nigerian artist and activist Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and the legendary band Egypt 80. Additional events include a film highlighting Cameroonian saxophone legend Manu Dibango; a performance by Afrosoul singer and songwriter Preyé; and a panel discussion on Art, Politics and Culture in Nigeria.
