Want to have an iconic winter date in NYC? Head to After Hours at Top of the Rock Observation Deck, which is now open until midnight every night. At the crown jewel of New York City, you can experience the nighttime glitter of the holiday season from 70 floors above the street—and then rise three more floors on the brand-new Skylift that takes you straight into the skyline. While you’re exploring the reimagined Rock Center, have a romantic skate date at The Rink, stop for a rinkside dinner for two at Jupiter and then cap off your night with a cocktail in the clouds at the Weather Room on the 67th floor.

If you’re fitting a trip to Top of the Rock into your busy holiday to-do list, don’t forget to grab an Express Pass to score immediate entry at any time on the day of your choice, priority elevator access and a 20% discount at the gift shop. Whether you’re looking for a heart-pounding experience or can’t wait to create a lifetime memory high above the city, here are five ways for locals to rediscover the “hidden” gem of Rockefeller Center during After Hours at Top of the Rock. See you at the top!

The new Skylift experience sends you and your date three more stories above the 70-story Top of the Rock on a revolving, open-air glass platform for even more stunning views. It’s an intimate, epic experience that makes you feel like you’re floating high above the city’s skyscrapers, letting you take in breathtaking, unobstructed views of the entire city from above. You’ll get the chance to take once-in-a-lifetime photos of the unobstructed skyline, and at its peak, Skylift will take one of you too, so you can have a photo of yourself to remember the NYC experience forever. It’s especially spectacular at night, when you can see the city’s magical lights twinkle down below.

Sip a cocktail in the clouds at the Weather Room

With striking views from every corner from the 67th floor, the Weather Room is the perfect spot for a romantic date night with classic cocktails and casual bites. Toast to the amazing view with a bubbly sunset spritz or a glass of Champagne, eat classic NYC snacks like soft pretzels with mustard, bagels with capers and lox and mini empanadas served with pimentón aioli and treat yourself to something sweet with the photo-ready Weather Room sundae, which has a taro-vanilla swirl, mochi, a chocolate brownie and—of course!—a cherry on the very tippy-top of it all.

Buckle up at the Beam Experience

‘Lunch atop a Skyscraper,’ the 1932 photo of ironworkers eating lunch on a steel beam on the 69th floor while building 30 Rockefeller Plaza, might just be one of the most iconic images of all time. Relive history (and make some for yourself!) by buckling into Top of the Rock’s Beam Experience, where you’ll rise and spin 180-degrees above the observation deck to catch a heart-pounding (and hand-holding) view of Central Park and more of NYC’s amazing sights.

Take in NYC from the observation deck

Stepping onto the observation deck should be on everyone’s NYC bucket list. With three levels of indoor and outdoor observation decks, you can take in the 360-degree views of the city at night from all different vantage points. Situated at the pinnacle of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, you’ll get to take in unobstructed views of the city at night from your perch in the sky. With photo opps to the north, south, east and west of Top of the Rock, you can see iconic NYC landmarks from the most incredible vantage point in the city.

Have the holiday date of a lifetime

There’s a reason some of the most romantic holiday movies feature your favorite characters ice skating at The Rink! Lace up your skates and hit the world-famous ice for a date night you’ll never forget. Grab a 60- or 90-minute skate session, then head to the rink-level Jupiter restaurant for classic, casual Italian fare and a bottle of something bubbly. It’s the perfect way to warm up—or cool down!—after holding hands on the ice.
