A 30th Anniversary Celebration of Style Wars

See the 1983 documentary Style Wars, which captured the city's blossoming graffiti-writing and break-dancing scenes. Its filmmaker, Henry Chalfant, joins for a postscreening discussion. The event is the first in the NYPL's new Rhapsodic City: Music of New York series, which looks at genres including hip-hop, salsa and folk revival in the context of the city that birthed them.
