Rumor has it, once his presidency is over, Barack Obama would like to move his family to New York City. This is exciting news for New Yorkers, obviously. (Well…maybe not to Donald Trump. You wouldn't know it, because he's not very vocal about such things, but apparently he's not a fan. Who knew!)
What we're wondering, though, is where the Obamas will end up living? With a net worth of around $6.8 million, he could afford to buy a place even in Manhattan, but it's likely he'll earn a lot more than that once he leaves office: George W. Bush is said to have earned $15 million in public-speaking fees within a little over two years after walking out of the White House, while Bill Clinton is believed to have raked in $65 million between 2001 and 2009. With bank like that, the Obamas could afford to just splurge and rent a cushy pad wherever they want. Here are five suggestions, in ascending price order, courtesy of real-estate website Zumper. (Barack—any chance of a finder's fee if you go with one of these?)
