Originally built in 1898 as the First Evangelical United Brethren Church, this space was renovated and renamed by Theater 4 in 1962. Other tenants have included MTC and the Negro Ensemble Company. Purchased by the Women’s Project in 1998, the 199-seater was officially named for Women's Project founder Julia Miles in 2004. It is still the home base for the burgeoning company, now known as WP Theater, which produces works by female playwrights.
