Wife to James Whelan

Mint Theater Company revives Teresa Deevy’s crisp psychological drama about an Irish man torn between three potential wives; director Jonathan Bank and his cast (led by Shawn Fagan and Janie Brookshire) deftly expose the passion and strength of the characters. Lost for decades and produced only once before, Deevy's play is not flawless, but it is intricate and emotionally affecting.—Diane Snyder
