On Site Opera invites audiences aboard the 1885 tall ship Wavertree for a live, immersive, site-specific collection of musical vignettes that evoke American maritime history, including slave ships and the seafaring novels of Herman Melville. The 75-minute program includes John Ireland's "Sea Fever," selections from Damien Geter's song cycle 1619 and selections from four operas: Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd, Anthony Davis's Amistad, Juliana Hall's Ahab and Ralph Vaughn Williams's Riders to the Sea.
