Ben Elton's musical bends songs by Queen to the service of a plot set in a dystopian future in which rock & roll is outlawed and a group of bohemian rebels (including characters named Galileo and Scaramouche) fights the evil Killer Queen. Despite harsh reviews, the original West End production ran for a dozen years, and the show has since toured pretty much everywhere in the world—except, until now, New York City. If you missed the nutty Bat Out of Hell this summer, this show might be the next best thing. JP Thibodeau directs the touring production's brief stop at Madison Square Garden.
