The 2018 TONY* nominations

The TONY* nominations honor the top shows and artists of the 2017-18 Broadway season

Today we are pleased to announce the annual TONY* nominations, honoring the best work in the 2017-18 Broadway season. Let us be extra clear, in case anyone is confused: In this case, TONY is an abbreviation for us: Time Out New York. Every year, we select the Broadway shows and artists that we here at Time Out New York, also known as TONY, would nominate for the Tony Awards if we were the nominating committee for the Tony Awards—which, once again, for better or worse, we are not. (The actual Tony Awards nominations will be announced at 8:30am on Tuesday, May 1.) Note also that these are not our predictions of who will be nominated for Tonys, but our choices of who should be nominated for Tonys. As always, some categories were overstuffed with good options, and choosing among them was difficult. But we have made our decisions, and here are the results. Congratulations to all the 2018 TONY nominees!
