Do any of us actually know what we’re doing at work? This satirical solo play written by comedian Kristina DeGiovanni and directed by Alexandra Scordato takes on that conceit, fresh off critical acclaim from its 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Fest debut.
In this live show, which sells itself as a “Fleabag meets Office Space for the post-Great Resignation era” DeGiovanni plays “a pretentious ingénue” who has been hired for an undercover acting role at a dysfunctional New York media company” to liven up the workplace in these post-pandemic times. As the performer weaves a “tale of lies, betrayal, and absurd impersonations of desperate co-workers,” The Temp sinks its teeth into capitalist structures and corporate culture. See it at Caveat on March 3.
