Savion Glover burst onto the stage at the age of 10 when he took over the leading role of dance prodigy Willie in Broadway's The Tap Dance Kid. Now, 35 years older and arguably the most famous tapper in the world, he directs and choreographs a rare revival of the show at NJPAC, featuring a company of 30 young artists. (The music is by Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger; the book and lyrics are by Charles Blackwell and Robert Lorick, respectively.)
