National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene follows the success of its revival of The Golden Bride with another lost Yiddish operetta: Abraham Goldfaden's musical fairy tale, whose 1882 debut is believed to be the first Yiddish theater production produced in the United States. The production, based on archival orchestral arrangements and performed with English and Russian supertitles, is presented as a work in development. Motl Didner directs.
