Brave New World Repertory Theatre presents an immersive, site-specific adaptation of The Cherry Orchard at the Admiral's House on Governors Island. Adapter-director Claire Beckman moves Anton Chekhov's 1904 tragicomedy, in which aristocratic indecision and malaise water the roots of an encroaching bourgeoisie, to the fraught post–Civil War social landscape of 1870 Virginia.
