Director Mac McCarty and his new Open Circle Play Factory present a pair of plays by Lanford Wilson, one of the leading lights of New York theater from the 1960s through the 1990s. The two shows, presented separately in rep, are 1975's The Mound Builders, about Illinois archaeologists trying to dig up the ancient past while covering up the present, and 1997's Sympathetic Magic, in which scientists and artists in San Francisco grapple with human and cosmic mysteries.
