The Christine Jorgensen Show

Jesse James Keitel plays the pathbreaking transgender entertainer and activist Christine Jorgensen, whose sex-reassignment operation fascinated America in the 1950s, in a musical bioplay by Donald Steven Olson. Pianist and cabaret showman Mark Nadler—who co-composed the show's music with Olson, also co-stars as Jorgensen's collaborator on a nightclub act. Michael Barakiva directs this encore run of a production that had a hit run at 59E59 earlier this year.
