York Theatre Company, which is dedicated to incubating new musicals with a classic bent, presents the premiere of an original work—conceived by director Susan H. Schulman, choreographer Michael Lichtefeld and music supervisor Lawrence Yurman—that is built around the catalogue of Great American Songbook pillar Hoagy Carmichael. Developed with input from the songwriter's eldest son, Hoagy Bix Carmichael, the musical tracks a young cast of seven through four decades of early-20th-century U.S. history, studded with golden standards like "Stardust", "Skylark," "Georgia on My Mind" and "Heart and Soul."
