Move over vampires, mermaids are the hot occult species right now, at least according to CUNY prof Amy Herzog. She'll discuss contemporary mermaid tales and imagery surfacing in modern culture. A screening of the documentary "Mermaids of New York" and panel discussion with the finned Bambi the Mermaid follows.
