Close-up sleight-of-hand master Siegfried Tieber brings his card magic to Greenpoint in a show mounted by the oddity connoisseurs of Atlas Obscura. The setting is a single, neatly appointed room with a long table in the middle around which are clustered enough chairs to accomodate a little over two dozen spectators at a time. But while the space may be small, Tieber, who was raised in Ecuador and is now based in Los Angeles, is a mighty big performer, with a mop of curly black hair, an eager smile, and eyes that pop with wonder at his own feats of prestidigitation. He is extremely dextrous with a deck, but what sells the show is his ebullient personality. Tieber's enthusiasm for his art is infectious: He's a joy to watch closely.
