Time Out says

Latin for “that which was demonstrated,” quod erat demonstrandum (Q.E.D) is an adult educational space located in Astoria, Queens. The school aims to offer “classes as diverse as Queens itself,” so creative folks of all ages and from all backgrounds can join others in their quest to continue learning and boost their skills. Aspiring dancers can attend swing dancing classes on the first Monday of every month. This class is a good mix of socializing and learning and includes a pre-class happy hour for all participants. Former class clowns can also make themselves at home in one of Q.E.D’s many improv and stand-up workshops.

Students who want to get creative off of the stage can still find plenty to learn at Q.E.D. There are plenty of writing classes that cater to almost any professional or personal writing goal. For instance, they offer poetry writing workshops, courses for screenwriting, and a songwriting class. There are also several courses that teach students how to craft with various materials, like embroidery, calligraphy, and origami. Above all else, Q.E.D is designed to be a space where local artists can connect with each other, and they are consistently expanding their programming based on suggestions from the community.

Former Q.E.D students describe the school as a fun and low-pressure environment to meet creative peers and push themselves out of their comfort zones. Many students report the workshops being a great activity for a group of friends or a casual date night. Instructors at Q.E.D are reportedly generous with their time, clear in their communication, and patient with beginner students who may be intimidated by the new material. A lot of students also shared that they were looking forward to attending additional workshops in the future.
