HERE and Beth Morrison Projects prove that thrilling opera continues to bloom as their festival returns for a sixth season that ranges across venues, genres and boroughs. This year's lineup includes Gregory Spears and Greg Pierce's Fellow Travelers, about the antigay panic of McCarthyism; Michael Gordon and Deborah Artman's Acquanetta, a deconstruction of 1940s horror movies; Mikael Karlsson, Elle Kunnos de Voss and Kathryn Walat's The Echo Drift, about a murderer in solitary confinement; and Roman Grygoriv and Illia Razumeiko's IYOV, a modern Ukrainian take on the biblical story of Job.
