David Staller’s delightful staged-reading series Project Shaw diverges from its George Bernard Shaw mandate to present Maurine Dallas Watkins's 1926 satire of crime and punishment, which inspired both the Ginger Rogers film Roxie Hart and the smash Broadway musical Chicago (which had its own hit film adaptation). The cast, directed by Pamela Hunt, includes Mara Davi and Susannah Perkins as camera-hungry murderesses, Robert Cuccioli as a slick lawyer, comedy pillar Judy Gold as a tough prison matron and Time Out's own Adam Feldman as a sharky reporter.
