Nearly 25 years after its 1998 debut in Paris, and having been performed for millions of people around the world since then, Richard Cocciante and Luc Plamondon's epic musical tragedy—adapted from the Victor Hugo's classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame—finally made its long-awaited New York City debut in a two-week engagement last year at Lincoln Center. The production was such as success that it now returns for a longer run. Gilles Maheu directs a cast of 30 led by Angelo Del Vecchio as Quasimodo, Elhaida Dani as Esmeralda and Daniel Lavoie as Frollo; performances are in French with English supertitles.
