Nature & Purpose

This diptych juxtoposes two short works about artists: Matthew Marcum's "avant operatic sound performance piece" Pollock: A Frequency Parable, in which Marcum plays paint slinger Jackson Pollock; and Billy Ray Brewton's Beast/A Burden, starring Ben Hethcoat as the late performance artist Chris Burden.
