The indomitable Tyne Daly plays a dotty countess who refuses to yield to nefarious modernity in a brief revival of this short-lived 1969 musical, adaptated from Jean Giraudoux's The Madwoman of Chaillot. The score is by Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!); the original book, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, has been revised by David Thompson. Michael Montel directs for the York's Musicals in Mufti series, which offers stripped-down concert stagings of Broadway rarities; the supporting cast includes Alison Fraser, Ann Harada and Lenny Wolpe.
