The York's Musicals in Mufti series, which offers stripped-down concert stagings of Broadway rarities, continues its season devoted to lesser-known works by show-tune master Jule Styne (Gypsy). This one, written for a 1978 West End run, is a Jewish coming-of-age story featuring lyrics by Don Black and a book by Jack Rosenthal; David Thompson has adapted the show for this production, directed by Annette Jolles, and Black has added new lyrics to previously unheard Styne tunes.
