The Playwrights Realm returns to production, after a four-year break, with Emma Horwitz's offbeat adaptation of Abraham, or the Rise and Repentance of Mary, a tale of spiritual redemption by history's first known female playwright, the 10th-century German canoness Hrosvitha of Gandersheim. Josiah Davis directs the world premiere, which features a diverse non-male cast playing mostly male characters: Octavia Chavez-Richmond, Kai Heath, Susannah Perkins, Claire Siebers and Haley Wong.
