Playwrights Yolanda Brooks and John Ruiz Miranda depict the struggles of the South African anti-Apartheid hero and Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela in a play that compares and contrasts Mandela's history with that of Black Americans. Despite the serious subject matter, the production also promises moments of laughter, music, dance and joy; co-author Miranda directs a diverse cast of 11 led by Robert Greene in the title role.
