A.R. Gurney's 1988 epistolary dramedy covers 50 years in the lives of its protagonists, bohemian Melissa and straitlaced Andy, who flirt, fight and dance around an affair. The play's simple, script-in-hand structure has always made it perfect for rotating casts of actors in brief engagements, and Ciarán O’Reilly's Irish Rep production keeps up that tradition. The remaining twosomes in this encore run are J. Smith-Cameron and Victor Garber (Sept 19–24) and Brooke Shields and John Slattery (Sept 27-Oct 1).
