Two years ago, MasterVoices presented a concert staging of the 1931 musical Of Thee I Sing, a political satire that won the Pulitzer Prize for songwriters George and Ira Gershwin and book writers George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind George. Now the group presents its lesser-known 1933 sequel (for which the original authors reunited) about a would-be military coup by a President who has failed to be reelected. Many of the stars of Of Thee I Sing—Bryce Pinkham, Kevin Chamberlin, David Pittu, Fred Applegate and Chuck Cooper—return for a second tour of duty, joined by Mikaela Bennett, Christopher Fitzgerald, Bill Buell, Lewis J. Stadlen and Edsel Romero. The MasterVoices Chorus and the Orchestra of St Luke's are conducted by Ted Sperling.
