As part of this year's Crossing the Line festival, Kaneza Schaal performs a work-in-progress version of her KLII, a look at the brutality and legacy of Belgium's brutal colonization of Congo. Among the texts Schaal draws on this exorcism exercise are Mark Twain’s monologue King Leopold’s Soliloquy, André Cauvin’s documentary film Bwana Kitoko and a 1960 speech by the Congolese politician and martyr Patrice Lumumba.
