Time Out says

After 25 years as artistic director of Tashkent's Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, Nabi Abdurakhmanov moved to New York in 2016. He and his company, Essence Theatre, now join forces with Theater 86 to present the U.S. premiere of a play adapted from an 1886 short story by Leo Tolstoy (sometimes translated as Strider) that looks at human iniquities and inequities through the eyes of a noble and long-suffering horse. Performed in English, the show includes elements of dance and an original score by the well-regarded Uzbekistani composer Dmitry Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky.
