As Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bad Cinderella begins its run on Broadway, a different take on the same story sets up shop a few blocks away at the New Vic. Amas Musical Theatre presents a family-oriented sci-fi update of the classic fairy tale about marrying up and the importance of distinctive footwear. Unlike Lloyd Webber's version, this one—by Rona Siddiqui and Scott Elmegreen, from a story adaptation by David Coffman and Linda Chichester—is set in outer space and ends with a rap battle. Christopher Scott directs and Maria Torres choreographs.
