Writer and repeat marathonist Melanie Jones gives new meaning to the term theatrical run in an immersive outdoor solo show that tries to convey the experience of running long distances and the motives behind it. The play, which Jones herself performed a decade ago, is now being revived at Central Park in a production directed by Suchan Vodoor, with two dancer-actors, Mary Cavett and Casey Howes, performing on alternate dates. Audiences of just 15 people at a time follow the performance on a three-mile path through the park—walking, not running!—while listening to Jones narrate the story via headphones.
