Encores! Off-Center: Road Show

Encores!'s summer series concludes with a rare look at Stephen Sondheim's final musical to date: a collaboration with John Weidman (Assassins) that looks at the quintessentially American story of brothers Addison and Wilson Mizner. After a tortuous decade-long path through multiple revisions, the show finally made it to New York in 2008 in a wan production; this concert staging, directed by Will Davis (Men in Boats), may provide a better platform for its virtues. The cast includes the charismatic Raúl Esparza as con man Wilson, Brandon Uranowitz as architect Addison, and Jin Ha, Mary Beth Piel and Chuck Cooper in the main supporting roles.
