Encores!: Grand Hotel, The Musical

Josh Rhodes directs and choreographs the Encores! concert series' staging of the hit 1989 musical, adapted by Luther Davis from Vicki Baum's worldly-wise 1929 novel about comings and goings at a luxury hotel in Weimar Era Berlin. Half of the score was written in the 1950s by the Kismet team of Robert Wright and George Forrest; the other half was filled in by Maury Yeston in the 1980s. The City Center cast includes James Snyder as a conniving aristocrat, Irina Dvorovenko as an aging ballerina, Heléne Yorke as an ambitious secretary and Brandon Uranowitz as a dying man on a splurge.
