In 2015, the Irish company Druid, a frequent and welcome visitor to New York, mounted Shakespeare's so-called Henriad: Richard II, Henry IV (Parts 1 and 2) and Henry V. In this White Light Festival offering, Garry Hynes's Galway-based troupe skips ahead in the time line to present Shakespeare’s Tudor-friendly history play, which imagines the final Plantagenet king as a malicious hunchback who clambers to power on the corpses of his family and friends. Aaron Monaghan plays the title role.
